Floods in the Czech Republic

In September 2024, heavy rains across most of the Czech Republic have raised river levels to multi-year highs causing floods and following widespread damage of many towns. The Centre of Relief and Development Cooperation of Diaconia ECCB has therefore announced a collection to help people affected by the floods.

On Monday, 16th September our humanitarian team followed by the first group of volunteers went to Jeseník area in north Moravia where they are helping mainly in Česká Ves and Písečná.

Together with our volunteers and thanks to our donors we
  • monitor the extent of damage and needs in the affected households
  • provide psychosocial assistance and crisis intervention 
  • we can lend equipment such as dryers, power generators, pumps and small appliances
  • help to clean up flood damage
