We will support 100 families
Incontinence aids for bedridden elderly and physically and mentally disabled clients in Ukraine.
Information about the project in 2023
Charity activities are important because they help those who need support or are in vulnerable situations. The activities alleviate acute deprivation, provide basic needs and thus essential support. In addition, they can strengthen community cohesion and encourage people to show empathy and solidarity. Our joint charity activities also preceded the founding of Vita melior. As time passed, the question of quantification became necessary, so we started counting, and the Support 100 Families programme was born. It is our minimum annual commitment. Supporting incontinent people in Ukraine is important because these individuals often face many difficulties and challenges that probably do not need to be detailed to anyone. Providing them with appropriate care and assistance allows them to maintain their basic humana dignity.
We supported 42 lonely seniors. Additional support is provided to this group of the needy, most often by believers in their neighborhoods or by caregivers sent by the social department of the municipal office. In addition, there are 29 families who care for a bedridden elderly person. 17 disabled persons living alone and 10 families who care for a disabled relative. We must not forget the 2 families caring for a severely disabled child. Assistance and support for the listed groups of people in need is most often repeated.

Funding for the purchase of incontinence aids, diapers, pads, materials for the treatment of tibial ulcers and decubitus ulcers was acquired entirely from private donors in 2023. Through the fundraising account "Help those who care in Ukraine care with dignity! Second Appeal", or from donors who sent funds directly to the organization's account in the form of a donation. Many thanks to all of them! We appreciate their support and help.

Support for families caring for their loved ones continues with imported materials in September.

Education in our courses will again be prepared for clients for whom collective teaching is an obstacle in their own educational process. We aim to help those who have been unable to attend classes regularly by creating an individual approach for the client according to their capabilities and abilities. We will again focus primarily on clients from Ukraine who have been fully integrated into Czech society for a long time. A possible obstacle in their development is their imperfect knowledge of written and spoken language. This work was interrupted after the outbreak of the war conflict, when we became fully involved in humanitarian aid to incoming refugees.

Humanitarian activities and charitable aid in Ukraine are organized together with the informal group "God's Grace". Lying grandmother, grandfather, or lying mentally or physically handicapped loved ones are always cared for by someone and our joint help is mainly addressed to the caregivers. We distribute incontinence aids for the bedridden elderly and physically and mentally disabled clients mainly in rural areas and also for some stationary social services in the region of Subcarpathian Ukraine.

Our membership base and network of supporters and volunteers is growing. Therefore, we can plan for Children's Groups in the future. We will expand our focus on individuals to include smaller groups. Children's groups contribute to a better work-family balance. Smaller groups allow individual attention to the child and facilitate the child's adaptation due to the family environment and the wide age range in the group.

Through your donations, you contribute to the development of Vita melior z. s. Your contributions will be used mainly for the development of the organization and the preparation of new projects. Supplementing the salaries of employees that are not covered by the projects.
