In Uganda there is almost 30% illiteracy. The fact that education is paid for at all levels plays a big part in this, and unless today's children from disadvantaged backgrounds get an education, as well as their parents and grandparents, nothing will change because they will still not know that there is a different, better way to live. Instead of going to school, children from poor families often spend their time selling fruit in markets or by the roadside to make a small contribution to the family budget. That is why we try to use the money raised to pay for the children's school fees, which are three times a year, and all the necessary supplies such as stationery, books, uniforms, shoes, clothes for sports activities, etc. It would be very difficult to distribute all of the above, so we have contracted with Study for Life, a Ugandan organization that helps us deliver the supplies to the specific children who need them, helps with the Ugandan administrative and administrative requirements that come with paying school fees, and also makes sure that the children actually go to school. We are a young organization, but despite this, we have already managed, this year, to pay school fees for children from three villages, supplied shoes and clothes for sports activities and paid for medical care for several of them, which was necessary for them to attend school. We will continue to do our best to increase the number of children who know that not all cultural practices are correct and that wisdom gained through age may not be the only way to acquire knowledge. Every child who will have a better future through education is worth it.
