The art community in Pragovka began to emerge at the turn of 2010 and 2011. The first artists started to move into the abandoned industrial area with their studios. The space, which was originally used for industrial production, began to transform naturally into a lively centre of contemporary art. Soon, a dynamic community was organically created here, which began to organise the first joint events and exhibitions. Out of the need to cover and develop this activity in the long term, the Pragovka for Art association was founded at the end of 2017, which is now the operator of Pragovka Gallery. In addition to an international exhibition programme, the gallery also organises a international residency programme, educational programmes for schools and the general public, and community events, aimed primarily at the residents of Prague 9. An integral part of the gallery's activities is also the long-term support of the Pragovka art community and care for its development.
