Help us to get a therapeutic horse for children with cancer

Therapeutic horses in our camp have been healing seriously ill children for several years, but they are getting old. We need to buy a new horse and train him/her for hippotherapy. The horse will serve hundreds of Czech oncologically ill children in the camp of therapeutic recreation of Bátor Tábor Foundation. Help us raise finances to buy a new horse. Thank you! What can hippotherapy give to children? Read the story of Agata and her volunteer, Katka. „It happened in an international session for teens with oncological diseases. One of the camper‘s was bound to wheelchair, she could barely move by herself. She was really waiting to sit on a horse, so it was not a question that it will happen somehow. Finally we used the "lifechair" protocol: when one of the volunteers sits on the horse as a chair and holds the camper from behind. The laugh of the girl was a heart taking experience as she managed to do all the games that the other campers did on the horse. At the end of the program we asked her how it felt to sit on the back of the horse. She answered: ‘I am riding all the time. I imagine that my wheelchair is a horse.’ Next year I was in the same session. No need to mention that this girl was looking forward the most to the horse riding program.”
