Join us in reviving traditional pottery market on Prague´s Kampa

The traditional pottery market on Kampa is a two-day cultural, social, charitable and educational event intended for the general public – for Prague residents and visitors to Prague. Once a year SANANIM presents traditional Czech crafts, customs and traditions on Prague's charming Kampa – on the original pottery square. The market is also a family event, as it is always livened up by an accompanying program presenting various forms of street art such as street theater for young and old, clowning, pantomimes, musicians of various genres and ceramic workshops for children. Your financial contribution will help us reward talented artists who perform for you. Donate to our hat, so we can meet again next year!

Since 2006, the Pottery Market on Kampa has been organized by SANANIM and our sheltered ceramic workshop. In cooperation with the Prague 1 Municipal District, we create a unique space for citizens to meet on Kampa every year and offer Prague residents an attractive program for the whole family.
Thanks to its pleasant atmosphere, the "Revived Market Square on Kampa" has entered the map of exceptional events held in the centre of Prague. With its 19-year tradition it forms an important city-forming element and a space for gatherings, relaxation and program for the whole family. Once a year, this historically unique place in Prague's Lesser Town comes to life with a traditional, purely Czech event that contributes to the neighbourhood community and to the deepening of the good relationship between Prague residents and visitors to the city.
Every year, SANANIM presents here its own sheltered pottery workshop, which - since 1998 - has been offering employment to clients after successful completion of addiction treatment. All funds obtained from the sale of ceramics are always reinvested in further development of our pottery production.
In addition to our workshop, about 20 other renowned craftsmen present their pottery and ceramic products at the market.
The markets are always livened up by an accompanying program offering visitors diverse forms of street art, such as street theatre for young and old, clowning, pantomime, musicians of various genres and ceramic workshops for children. They offer perfect opportunity for meeting friends or for family trips and gatherings. Visitors can chat over quality "ecological" refreshments from Café Therapy (a social enterprise founded by SANANIM in 2005 as the first social enterprise in the Czech Republic employing clients after completing addiction treatment) – in a café with goodies or in a soup shop, all with musical accompaniment.
How do we use your contribution?
Being a non-profit organisation dedicated to treating addictions for the past 34 years, we also strive to help break taboos and myths about addictions during the event. We believe we should preserve the beautiful tradition of pottery squares on Kampa and therefore we want to organize them also in the future. For years, we have been able to do this with minimal support from donors, but we would like to ask you for your support. Your financial contribution will help us cover at least part of the fair remuneration for talented artists who perform for you.

THANKS TO YOU, ART WILL LIVE ON KAMPA!
